This just in: Bezos has managed to rake in total net worth of $197.8 billion this year, the highest Forbes has ever recorded in four decades! Not a lot of people know how much exactly is a billion dollars.

To put it into perspective, a billion dollars is a thousand million, which Jeff Bezos has 197 thousand of. Mackenzie Scott, Bezos’ ex-wife who received a quarter of all that he had as part of their divorce settlement last year, saw an increase of $2 billion in her net worth, making her the third richest woman, with a total net worth of $62.7 billion. That’s a lot of money for both Bezos and Scott! Their lawyers must have had a pretty hard time drafting their settlement with all that money.
