Alan Alda was originally named Alphonso Joseph D’Abruzzo, quite a mouthful, which is why he opted for a simpler stage name for professional and marketing reasons. He is a multi-awarded artist with a host of achievements under his name. He has won a Golden Globe Award and six Emmy Awards for his outstanding performances throughout the years. Alan’s had a role in more than a few critically acclaimed shows, including The Four Seasons, The West Wing, and Crimes and Misdemeanor.

He also played the role of Hawkeye Pierce in the TV series M*A*S*H. Besides this, he ventured into writing several books.
