A few of the vampire romance novels that she authored are Queen of the Damned and her most famous book, Interview with the Vampire, which was published in 1976 and was adapted into a movie. It starred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, and it was a huge success at the box office. Rice was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and she moved to Richardson, Texas, in 1958.
