Mary Higgins Clark | $140 Million

For more than four decades, Mary Higgins, an American mystery and suspense writer, was a fixture on best-seller lists. She began writing poetry at six years old. She’s said to have constantly kept a diary when she was young — she still does. Writing suspense novels takes a lot of work, which goes to show how much time and dedication a writer needs to produce a piece of work.

However, some are naturally gifted with writing skills, like the Queen of Suspense herself, Mary Higgins Clark. She has written a total of 38 suspense novels, four collections of short stories, a historical novel, two children’s books, and has co-authored many others. She has sold more than a hundred million copies of her books in the US alone. With that said, I don’t think Clark would ever need to apply for a home loan to help her pay for the lavish mansion she lives in.
