We all have our hobbies, but it’s safe to say many of us love to go to the beach. For that, may we suggest Gulf Shores, Alabama? After all, the place often receives recognition for its glistening quartz-grain sand.

With the city’s history dating farther back than creating the pyramids in Egypt, Gulf Shores undoubtedly has more than just its beaches to attract visitors and even residents. Along with its cool yet sunny winters and clear summers, Gulf Shores also has plenty of exciting wildlife worth checking out, thanks to its impressive ecosystem. With that said, one such example would be the gopher tortoise. Despite its name, however, this tortoise has no degree of resemblance with gophers. What the two do share, though, is their habit of digging holes. Thanks to this, the gopher tortoise indirectly creates shelters for various other species.
