During its earlier years, many people visited Colorado Springs because of its nearby springs, which doctors learned could help with certain ailments, including tuberculosis. Nowadays, though, the city is most known for a couple of other reasons.

Besides the eight naturally carbonated drinking fountains located around the city, there are other things worth noting about Colorado Springs. One of its hotels, the Antlers Hotel, was first built back in 1883, and since then, it has gone through two iterations. The first building burned down, while the second one was demolished and rebuilt. With that said, another interesting fact about the city is that it once sheltered one of the world’s greatest geniuses. That genius was Nikola Tesla, widely regarded for his innovative use of electricity. Having established his Experimental Station in Colorado Springs back in 1899, the city has since placed a plaque in honor of the scientist in its memorial park.
