Middletown, Connecticut

Initially named Mattabeseck due to its local indigenous community, also known as the Mattabesett, the city was eventually renamed Middletown by 1653. Throughout its earlier years, Middletown was mainly an industrial center and a sailing port. After some time, though, critical investments finally made it into a more resident-friendly location.

By the looks of it, Middletown has just about everything we need. If you feel like enjoying a nice meal at a restaurant, all you need to do is go downtown. There are several restaurants there, ranging from Italian cuisines to Mexican food and the classic American diner. They also have the Buttonwood Tree, where you can watch art exhibitions, poetry readings, and even live music performances. Plus, if you ever feel the urge to take a trip outdoors, don’t worry because Middletown has several recreational parks and nature trails to keep you happy.
