Pauline Hanson
Pauline Hanson is an Australian politician and the founder and leader of the right-wing populist party One Nation. Hanson has represented Queensland in the Australian Senate since the 2016 federal election. Despite Hanson’s repeated denials of allegations of racism, her views on race, immigration and Islam have been widely discussed in Australia.
In 1971 Hanson married Walter Zagorski, a former field representative and mining industry worker from Poland. Hanson met her second husband, Mark Hanson, a businessman from Queensland’s Gold Coast, while they were both working for the Australian company Taylors Elliots Ltd. as they fled war-torn Europe. The two married in 1980 and set up a construction company in which Hanson held executive positions. The company was sold after the 1996 parliamentary election.
