Back off, Stingray!

Stingrays are cartilaginous sea animals that are related to sharks. So yes, they are scary, and chancing upon one while on the beach can be a traumatizing experience. However, many of those who encountered rays say that they are very friendly and gentle when around humans. We suppose touching them is out of the picture because they might see it as a degree of aggression towards them.

So, we can understand why during the pictorial, and we see that terrifying expression in the woman’s eyes. Whether it was part of a practical joke or an overly friendly stingray who attached himself to the woman’s back, it was not a funny scene. Everyone would probably be laughing at this now, but take note that the woman is visibly afraid. Although the picture was taken at Stingray City Sandbar in the Cayman Islands, their presence shouldn’t pose as a surprise.
